			<description><![CDATA[Hello friends, it's been a long time since I’ve given E the love it really deserves but life is life and I’ve been struggling to find the motivation to do anything other than video games and adult crap. Despite all of that I do intend to step up!<br />

<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Got two things I’ll be covering in this update today. </span><br />
<ul><li><a href="https://folkloria.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">Folklore/ia</a> is closing its doors come 1/1/25 and we’d like to welcome tentative characters from that world to ours with accommodations to their in-game accomplishments there.</li>
<li>The current SWP chapter will be closed 11/1/24 @ 5pm CST. Please be sure to update your characters’ <a href="https://equus-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=308" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">SWP Tracker</a> if you have any other dice rolls to include. We will be using it to announce this chapter's ending and the main progress character’s earnings.</li></ul>

<h2>Folklore/ia Community Notice</h2>If you’re reading this from the seats of Folk’s grand community we’ve got something to share with you! It is always hard to say goodbye to a beloved site but I think we’ve all been through the process before. Transitions are hard, we leave behind all the time and dedication we put into something to start new elsewhere. It's daunting, it sucks. BUT NOT FOR YOU, we at E have decided to scoop up, with loving arms, those of you who decide to join us and offer you some appealing transition goodies.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Character’s that will be transitioning from the world of Folklore/ia will be greeted with:</span><br />
<ul><li>The ability to receive manual EXP from half of their Folklore/ia post count. All that love you poured into Folklore/ia deserves to live on! Post count plays a major role in our Level system that is used for mechanics (dice). Read about level <a href="https://equus-rpg.com/handbook.php?page=Statistics%20and%20Experience" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">here</a>.</li>
<li>Any characters pregnant during transition are welcome to make use of our newer <a href="https://equus-rpg.com/handbook.php?page=Procreation" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">Procreation</a> system without rolling the dice of succession (as in the character is already pregnant so no need to determine if it took). Babies that pop out will be Spirits, not Ghosts, which includes 10 extra points to disperse across foundation stats.</li>
<li>Some random goodies that can be claimed whenever use is needed such as but not limited to: escape death, escape realm collapse, a handful of free magical crafts. We will work out the details on these soon but these are things that we also hand out during events as rewards. They are small goodies but can come in handy!</li>
<li>A “Memoria Folkloria” award badge to claim and forever remember the grand world of Folklore.</li></ul>

These goodies will be available from now up until two weeks after Folklore/ia’s closing date (1/1/25). <span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="text-decoration: underline;" class="mycode_u">More may be added as we peek through to see what all we can offer in semi-equal comparison</span></span>, that works with our systems, based on your dedication and time spent there. <h2>E Updates</h2><ul><li>Folklore transitioners are going to receive some goodies that we typically hand out during events as rewards. To be fair to current members you will be offered the same event reward goodies.</li>
<li>SWP Part 2. “It Beckons” will come to a grinding halt on 11/1/24 at approximately 5pm CST. You will be left with a cliffhanger until 1/11/25 where will pick the SWP back up and deliver to you a new era. !! Please be sure to update your characters’ <a href="https://equus-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=308" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">SWP Tracker</a> if you have any other dice rolls to include. We will be using it to announce this chapter's ending and the main progress character’s earnings.</li>
<li>Relaxed Mode (Beta) will close 1/1/25 and we will enter our official game play. We may be considering ways of questing for regaining lost soul shards in the future, as this was something many were worried about, but we may use an alternative system to quests. Details on this will be disclosed closer to January. !! As a friendly reminder, during beta characters can reset their SS to 100 when we close beta, so your tester help does not screw you in the end.</li>
<li>Our revamp, although slow and delivered months ago, also featured some new mechanics like Bands &amp; Groups, Gold &amp; Market, and Procreation. They haven’t been given a shout out so we’re going to go ahead and tell you to take a peek. !! Dice pages for quick copy and paste are still weird. These will be addressed quickly but in the meantime if you need to use a mechanic that has not been completely finished in the dice area you can ask staff for help to get you the proper rolling code.</li>
<li>Magic is being redone to only require dice for magic intended to be used during altercations, crafting, or other instances that involve harm or use against another character.</li>
<li>Altercations will be reformed to include magic as a way to defend oneself, using up their “action” slot instead of taking physical action (this was not accounted for when it should have been lol).</li>
<li>A new system that will allow us to incorporate unique skills for those that like to have something to achieve and flaunt. This system will make use of character level and give them some boost to their chosen taxonomy.</li></ul>]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[Welcome to the Revamped New Age!]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[Our new official theme is now live. While there are some areas unfinished, particularly the wiki/logs and the quick dice page, it is pretty much all good to go. For now just refrain from mechanics as I get those in properly, if you need to use them please let me know and I'll get moving on that even faster.<br />

We are also going to be introducing groups and bands with this new SWP. The SWP has fallen stagnant and we will be working on a way to make it quicker/easier to get the pace back up because its going to have a wild outcome and we can't wait for y'all to make that outcome come to life! ;) You can read some basics about these in the Handbook right now.<br />
<br />
The new navigation pretty has a link to anywhere you need to get to. Our main page now only features in character realms and speaking of that, realms are ***very unstable*** right now.<br />
<br />
Additionally gold coin now also has manual income opportunities! Your accounts "quick links" section will have a link to the gold bank page where you can see all that. We have some extra community boards for plot &amp; search, interest checks, and general community chatter if you want to share things/do forum games/drop memes/etc.<br />
<br />
Procreation has been introduced, thank <dvz_me_placeholder id="0" /> for this one and its details, and I thoroughly enjoy the way it has come out. It will be fun. With procreation we now have a new field to dictate between Ghost (regular deceased) and Spirit (a child of the afterlife). Spirits have a higher base of stats at 30 instead of 20. ;) Children are going to be wicked with mechanics by the way so maybe you should start breeding your ponies HAHAA.<br />

We are going to be introducing an "easy" market in the wiki so that your characters can easily buy/sell/trade crafted items/services/whatever. Personally I can't wait to see the creativity that comes from this stuff. Opportunities endless!<br />

<h3><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">SWP Part 2 - Stagnance</span></h3>This portion of the SWP seems to have fallen a bit stagnant. This is likely to do with the complicated process of including NPC’s into threads. I’ll be speaking with the rest of the team on alternative ways to go forward with this section in regards to NPC’s. I think it would probably be best to move forward without requiring NPC responses but to instead allow folks to just play it out via the post as part of their attempt. Taking out the middleman to speed along discovery. The dice mechanics for this may also alter. Stay tuned, the update for this will come shortly and linked via the announcement bars.<br />

<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">Although I'm sure some of the slowness here also has to do with summertime. I'm convinced its just an insanely busy season for all.</span><br />
<br />
<h3><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Administration Changes</span></h3>Due to time restraints and real life in general two of our lovely Game Managers, <dvz_me_placeholder id="11" /> and <dvz_me_placeholder id="12" />, have stepped down. I’d like to personally thank them for their dedication and time spent with E as my very first team members. I do hope that life treats you all fairly. &lt;3<br />

<dvz_me_placeholder id="13" />, <dvz_me_placeholder id="14" />, and <dvz_me_placeholder id="15" /> joined the team some time back and while I gave them a shoutout on Discord I haven’t done one here! Please welcome them all to the GM team!<br />

Additionally, I have made the decision to promote <dvz_me_placeholder id="14" /> to Game Master. As a long time trusted friend I know that Spoopi will not only be helpful to me but to the dream for E as well. Thank you Spoopi for this long lasting friendship and for happily accepting the offer to nurture E alongside me.<br />
<br />
<h3><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Discord Issues</span></h3>We previously made use of an auto role sync plugin that gave users the member role after inputting their Discord tag into their profile. Unfortunately this plugin crapped out after Discord rolled out the new username styles.<br />
<br />
I went digging and purchased an API based plugin that should have solved this issue but did not. The plugin developer was keeping me updated on their fixes but has not responded in some time. I am not sure if I wasted money or not but I will keep you updated.<br />
<br />
For the time being all new users will have to link their on site profile manually in the discord channel in order to obtain the member role.<br />
<br />
<h3><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Kicking It Old School, We Got Cbox ;)</span></h3>Feeling nostalgic I decided to go ahead and open us a cbox. This will be implemented to the current theme temporarily but will be integrated into the new theme (see revamp details) in the good ol' fashion "popup" style. No one is required to chat in there but for those of you that miss the old days, 50x50 icons, and the sound of a new message we got you! ;)<br />

<h1>Revamp Announcement</h1>E is not being neglected, I promise, I’m just working on revamp things while simultaneously keeping up with real life and online ventures that pay my bills. My lack of in character posting is because I spend most of my time working on the revamp stuff when I have some spare time to give E love, I do apologize. Summertime is always a pain in my rump time wise but the older I get the more I have piled on my plate. Adulting really does suck.<br />
<br />
Since we opened in February we have received feedback and suggestions that are being implemented/reworked. However, all of this progression is happening on a development site version of E, you will not see live changes otherwise you’d be running into all my chaotic screwups. Not to mention some of the new coding will certainly cause serious problems with the current live version, so working on the live site would be a terrible idea. There will be new additions and fun things added to progress characters forward, i.e. giving you something else to do when you’re not plotting. I also hope that these new incentives will play a large role in the way E does progress “world” wise.<br />

Unfortunately this plugin crapped out after Discord rolled out the new username styles.<br />

I went digging and purchased an API based plugin that should have solved this issue but did not. The plugin developer was keeping me updated on their fixes but has not responded in some time. I am not sure if I wasted money or not but I will keep you updated.<br />

<h1>Revamp Announcement</h1>E is not being neglected, I promise, I’m just working on revamp things while simultaneously keeping up with real life and online ventures that pay my bills. My lack of in character posting is because I spend most of my time working on the revamp stuff when I have some spare time to give E love, I do apologize. Summertime is always a pain in my rump time wise but the older I get the more I have piled on my plate. Adulting really does suck.<br />

Since we opened in February we have received feedback and suggestions that are being implemented/reworked. However, all of this progression is happening on a development site version of E, you will not see live changes otherwise you’d be running into all my chaotic screwups. Not to mention some of the new coding will certainly cause serious problems with the current live version, so working on the live site would be a terrible idea. There will be new additions and fun things added to progress characters forward, i.e. giving you something else to do when you’re not plotting. I also hope that these new incentives will play a large role in the way E does progress “world” wise.<br />

I truthfully wasn't sure how interested folks would be in something like this but its proving to be well worth the tears and sweat I put into this lmfao. I have a few plans to rework, add, and alter some of the things that just aren't working well for us at this time. We will continue to remain in <a href="https://equus-rpg.com/handbook.php?page=Relaxed%20Mode" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">relaxed mode</a> until further notice but I'm going to add some extra perks to relaxed mode to encourage more use of these systems. ;) Particularly physical exchanges and altercations. Please don't forget we have feedback forms linked on the relaxed mode page. We want to hear your thoughts on the processes, mathematics, and whatever else you've got to say!<br />

I've been a little busy with life the past couple weeks as summer approaches. If its not work its family stuff that keeps dragging me away but rest assured I still think of this place 24/7 lmao. I've got some plans in the making for reworking the theme/skin as some areas are untouched and other areas are confusing. Then of course theres the index page which will get a face lift to incorporate some more important things like lonely threads since they are only listed on a completely separate page right now. Changes will come but they will roll out slowly.<br />

Also the handbook is still under maintenance. I'll be removing extra non-essential details to keep it slim and concise by moving those details to the aid center which seems more appropriate.<br />

I did not expect the influx of activity but I, nor -safely assuming- all of us, are complaining. This is very exciting! With 16 activated characters we've made 91 in character posts. The UCE count has gone up to 1560 which means we only have 440 more to go before our first realm expansion event occurs. Persona alignments lean most with Lawful Good as of right now. So our first realm is likely to mimic this in some way.<br />

Y'all shall soon have a button on threads you've participated in that has the capability of archiving them as soon as they are finished, which means your characters threadlogs will accurately display active vs closed threads!<br />

Our first mechanic release is available; magic is now ready for use. We decided to get this started with a mini event but no participation is required in order to start using magic.<br />

The event is smaller and mostly NPC in nature, with very little interaction but there is a “low danger” level set in the event thread. That means that participating in the actual event thread itself may leave your character susceptible to minor harm.<br />

I would like to express that beta will be far more relaxed when it comes to NPC interactions and realm expansion/collapse. Once we launch our true systems will come to light along with their consequences.<br />

If you’ve been writing somewhere privately with someone else joining you are welcome to publish those posts as a new thread here in the Ethereal Reach so long as you alter the “setting description” to mimic that of the Ethereal Reach (or use the Dreamscape and you won’t have to alter anything, but it has a maximum of two characters per thread). We don’t mind! Don’t let that private writing go to waste, give us the tea!<br />
