World Information
In this afterlife characters can experience death a multitude of times before they are gone forever. The SS stat declares the amount of soul a character has and until the character reaches zero SS they are eligible for respawn! When you combine this with our Actions & Reactions, Non-Con writing level, this makes a great cushion for characters that you love and want to write for a long while but are probably going to be prone to pushing the limits.
Death can be the outcome of many different situations but is ultimately just the result of your character vs the world (PVE, PVP, PVNPC). The afterlife is not a kind place after all.
Overview
- Two different dice are rolled upon death. One determines the amount of SS lost and the other determines the amount of gold Essentia reclaims, mostly because the maker of this world is an asshole.
- Gold must be sent to the Essentia Mortis account. If the roll amount is higher than the amount of gold the character has then send what they have, they will not incur debt.
- Respawning takes one week which means they cannot respond to any threads they were not actively a part of before death AND cannot create their resurfacing post until the seven days has went by. Death rolls include the date on which a character's respawn post can be created.
- Characters that respawn can undergo changes (including significant ones). Those that suffer signifcant damage to their health before death will slowly return to the state they were when they first came here (if you want - totally optional) which means earned scars, damage, or other things may fade with time.
- Upon return they will resurface below the water the same exact way they initially arrived in their official Depths thread. Initial spawning and all respawning must be done in the same thread! This is what we refer to as the characters "Spawn Log".
Immortality does not exist, the chance to live multiple lives here is the closest these souls will ever get, that means that characters will pass away permanently at some point, most likely from losing all of their SS. Permanently deceased characters are moved to the deceased usergroup and while we hope we will never have to purge old accounts, should server resources require being freed up we may have to do so in the future. If you wish for a character to be remembered forever it would be best to create them a character wiki thread!
Initiate Finalization
Once the character has permanently passed away we ask you to take the following steps:
- Log their death and requested details in the Death Records.
- Then use the link provided in that thread to mark their account deceased.
